In March 2023, Mr. Wong Chiu Yeung, the chairman of China SCE Group was awarded “Love Charitable Individual Award” of the first “Fujian Charity Award” by the People’s Government of Fujian Province. This honor is not only a testimony to Mr. Wong Chiu Yeung’s companionship with Fujian’s public welfare undertakings, and it is also recognition and affirmation of his love for Fujian, his concern for society, and his courage to shoulder responsibilities.
“Fujian Charity Award” is the highest charity award in Fujian established with the approval of the central government. It is sponsored by the People's Government of Fujian Province and undertaken by the Fujian Provincial Department of Civil Affairs. It is held every three years and mainly commends caring individuals, projects and units that have played an important role and made positive contributed in the areas of poverty alleviation, the elderly and orphans, the sick and disabled, science, education, culture and health, emergency rescue. Among those, only 17 people attained “Fujian Charity Award- Charitable Individual Award” in the Fujian Province.
Over the years, Mr. Wong Chiu Yeung makes relentless devotion to charity cause, he has been listed on the “Forbes China Heros of Philanthropy”and the “Hurun China Philanthropy List”, ranking among the top 10 twice. He was awarded the titles of Nan'an Philanthropist, Nan'an Charity Star, Xiamen Charity Star, and Fujian Charity Star, Xiamen Gold Medal for Contributing to and Honoring Education , and Fujian Overseas Chinese Outstanding Contribution Award for Public Welfare for many times.
Under his leadership, China SCE has been practicing social responsibility of corporate citizens and the concept of common prosperity, with cumulative donations and pledges exceeded RMB 900 million for various public welfare undertakings, including student scholarship, bursary, bonus for teachers, teaching building fund, library and the“SCE Yangfan Class”. Mr. Wong Chiu Yeung has also invested in many charity fields such as environmental protection, athletics and culture. Mr. Wong Chiu Yeung’s charity footprints have spread over the land of Fujian Province and more than 30 provinces and cities across the country, benefiting more than 2,000 schools and more than 600,000 teachers and students.
In the future, with the growth of the China SCE charity, China SCE hopes to bring happiness and warmth to more people and achieve "sharing a better future."
